The health of the whole family is important to Balance Osteopath Natasha McLeod. Natasha is committed to using osteopathy to support your family from childhood to adulthood, with the belief that 'healthy children grow into healthy adults'!
Balance Osteopathy provides an integrated approach to health. We strive to determine the underlying cause of disease and work with the body's natural healing processes, so that our potential for health is achieved.
OsteopathyWhat can osteopathy do for me?
Osteopathy is considered a mainstream approach to rehabilitative care. As the first Complimentary medicine to obtain government recognition, osteopaths are governed and regulated by the General Osteopathic Council.
Osteopathy is the diagnosis and treatment of the body, which encompasses all muscles, ligaments and joints. Extensive training in both anatomy and physiology allow Osteopaths to address the whole body, promoting better function throughout. As osteopaths are trained to treat holistically, the site of pain is considered in context to the individual.
Cranial Osteopathy
Cranial osteopathy is based on the same principle idea inherent through osteopathy; that structure governs function. This technique involves gentle pressure to correct mechanical disturbances in and around the skull as well as the whole body.
The "cranial" technique is a specialised field that some osteopaths undertake as a specialisation at postgraduate level.
Cranial osteopathy is often associated with babies, however it lays its main emphasis in treating dysfunction in children and adults alike. This may be caused by labour for a newborn, a skiing accident in adulthood or imbalance during pregnancy. The result still remains - an area of pain and a dysfunction in our bio mechanical structure.
Paediatric Osteopathy
Natasha has spent many years training in Peadiatric Osteopathy and has a passion for treating children.
Natasha's dream is simple, to make sure children grow into strong and healthy adults. She promotes child check ups even if there is no specific medical complaint.
Why wait until a problem presents itself?
This simple yet forward thinking, preventative approach initiates positive effects for the child and family towards a healthy future.
